Mililani Town - General Info & Sold Data

The first Mililani Town homes were unveiled publicly with great fanfare in 1969 as the initial homeowners moved in, finally giving life to this community. The first town on Oahu to be completely master-planned, it marked a turning point in Hawaii.

Mililani Town real estate pointed the way to places like Kapolei, creating entirely new cities where none had existed before, instead of building in or on established residential areas.

The houses you'll find here are primarily middle-class varieties, a cap of two stories across most of them. If you're looking for a mansion or luxury property, this isn't the place to look. This is Hawaii's version of a suburb, though definitely a nice one.

You have space between you and your neighbors here and a yard to enjoy, usually on both the front and back. The sound of lawn mowers is very common on weekends here.

Carports and garages are also typical throughout, giving you not just guaranteed parking, but extra storage space if needed.

Up here in the heart of Oahu, on a plateau between the Koolau and Waianae ranges, the views are of the mountains soaring around you in incredible shades of green and the wide open skies, a result of the low-rise planning that set the template to allow that to remain.

This elevation also pushes the average temperature down, keeping you cooler than most other parts of Oahu.

Initially intended as more affordable, though certainly not lower-end, Mililani Town real estate quickly became more and more attractive for their extras and the family-friendly environment. That has resulted in prices that have climbed regularly.

As of this writing, Mililani Town homes list in the mid to high 6 figures and they sell quickly. Islanders know a good thing when they see one.

To make certain this place maintains the atmosphere that made it so attractive, homeowners must pay dues to the Mililani Town Association, which oversees the rules and guidelines that govern, among other things, the design of homes here. That makes it one of the few places in Hawaii you can count on to stay basically the same.

H-2 runs right beside the town, making the commute simpler and Town Center of Mililani has all the shopping options to take care of almost every one of your needs, and even a few things you don't.
